Are you interested in learning how to create interactive Google Slides of your own?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since the launch of the Lent Gardens<\/em> over the past few weeks I’ve received a number of requests from church educators who are wanting to learn how to create slides of their own for their churches’ online Sunday schools, youth activities and family ministry programmes. I’m more than happy to help and want to invite you to join me over a Zoom meeting in a couple of weeks time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

But first, just in case you have no idea what I’m talking about, I need to stop and explain what an interactive Google Slide actually is. Or, at least show you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are not sure what I am talking about, take a minute and go back to the Feb. 16th CNOB article entitled ‘Welcome to the Garden – Ash Wednesday’. It’s just one article back from this one. Head to the bottom of the page and click on the link embedded in the last line of the article. By clicking on this link you will be taken to the first of six Lent Gardens<\/em> being distributed this season by the Synod of CNOB and Foothills Presbytery for churches to interact with. Play around in the garden a bit by clicking on the many items you find there. New windows will open up with videos or documents connected to the season of Lent. The ability to click and interact with embedded activities is what Google Slides, sometimes called Google Classroom, is all about. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

These gardens were created using Google Slides which are accessed through your Google account. While I am no expert in technology (just ask my kids), I’ve had lots of fun putting together the interactive Advent Living Rooms<\/em> and Lent Gardens<\/em> this past year using Google Slides and I’ve learned a few things along the way – things I’d love to share with you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
